Church on the beach

After returning to Plett after a most wonderful time at home, I was feeling somewhat sorry for myself, and had decided to hole myself up for the weekend and just settle in and work my sorrows away. The weekend I arrived back, Xtreme Life Church, along with the Knysna church it was planted out of, had a camp at Keurbooms Campsite. And so it ended up that I went out there with the Browns on Friday evening to hang out, and on Saturday evening for boerewors rolls, as well as on Sunday for church on the beach. It was so good to see the Plettatoes that have a big piece of my heart. They really have become family here. And so slowly my pity party had a joyful change and I enjoyed hanging out with my peoples.

Setting up for church.
What a view!

Volleyball

Every Monday evening, Xtreme Life Church play volleyball on the beach as a way to bond as a church family and to invite people we see to join in the game, and to invite them to church. Shane played volleyball at school and was excited about the prospect of a game or few. I have tried my hand, but I seem to have some serious directional issues and it is safer for all if I sit on the sidelines, chatting with the other ladies and enjoying the game from a distance!

River rides

I have joined Xtreme Life Church, which is a relatively new church in Plett and is as a consequence quite small which is something I have had to get used to. The church had a family chill day out on the Keurbooms river which I was quite keen for. Charl and Di picked me up in the morning, boat in tow. We arrived early to launch the boat, but skiing is only allowed from 10 so we waited and chatted. Another couple in the church also had a boat and met us there. From 10 the boat with the bigger engine was off and for the next 3 or so hours went up and down the river with an assortment of people and floatation devices. I tried my hand at skiing and decided that it was way harder than the other guys made it seem! But it was a wonderful day out, dipping in and out of the water, going on the boat, and being towed by it, and relaxing with everyone.

A beautiful day for being at the river!
